Has anyone on Y!A found their soul mate through online dating?

I think that my bf and I will be breaking up soon b/c we have been together for 5 years (not living together) and he doesn’t, and is not sure if he EVER wants to get married. I’m 25! I want to eventually get married and have a family.

Is there hope for me finding anyone online? Did you or do you know someone who has?

I just joined okcupid a few weeks ago, and I’ve been talking to this really nice guy. He lives 5 miles from me and seems pretty normal. He wants to meet me in person, so we’re going on a date on saturday. I’m just a bit paranoid that he’s gonna want to **** me or something. And how do I know if he has herpes? lol I don’t know his dating background. I’ve only kissed one guy in my life so I’m quite new at this dating thing. Any advice?

I’m just curious, have any of you actually tried online dating? Was it successful? I’m not saying I want to try it, I just want to know if it really works and how much you had to pay for it.

Such a waste of time, in my opinion. I can charm and meet a woman in 5 minutes while doing other tasks in my daily life versus the static pictures and typing of the online dating non-world. A place where 100s of guys beg for the attention of every woman based solely on her pic versus other charms. Pathetic.

Only useful way would be if the online sites went totally video, so it was as close to a real experience as it could get.

I joined an online dating website and suddenly I got a bunch of responses to my ad. I’ve been communicating with almost everyone who responded but now I would like to put some of them “on hold” so I can concentrate on the ones I’m more interested in. Is it correct to do that and if so what’s the best way to do it (and to tell them)? Or if not, should I keep at least a minimal communicating with everyone since I may be interested in them later if things don’t go well with my first options?
